Description from the seller
Rare folder: Journal Reflections for Walter Valentini (Riflessioni di diario per Walter Valentini)
This folder is a proof copy artist's proof (prova d'artista).
The volume contains texts by Roger Bertemes and Luigi Mormino, accompanied by an engraving by the artist Walter Valentini, measuring 35.6 x 31 cm.
The edition is printed on handmade 600-gram paper and is limited to 25 total copies, signed and numbered by the authors.
The edition is divided into 5 "hors commerce" (out of commerce) copies marked with the letters A to E, and 20 copies numbered in Roman numerals from I to XX.
Walter Valentini (Pergola, 22 October 1928 – Milan, 20 May 2022) was an Italian painter, sculptor, and engraver, internationally recognized in the field of graphics and engraving.
As with the plates, the graphic works are not smooth surfaces: with a refined drypoint intaglio technique, Valentini presses the paper so that the drawing remains in relief relative to the plane. The subjects of these engravings are the same as those of the plates; only the technique varies: ranging from aquatint to etching and drypoint.
