To use the sundial function, hold the pen in a vertical position and open the horizontal gnomon at 90° relative to the barrel, which serves as the dial. The three spheres of the gnomon (in silver) correspond to three latitude points (40°, 45°, 50°), highlighted by the rubies, thus allowing the solar time reading to be adapted based on geographical location.
