AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
We present the Marlen Sumeri Collection
The pens in this collection are a suggestive nod to an ancient civilization whose graphic signs seem to have preceded every other form of coded writing. It belongs to the Sumerians the so-called cuneiform script, the first documented in history and executed with a stylus, impressing on clay distinctive marks of a pointed triangular shape, similar to wedges, from which the writing itself takes its name. Marlen has crafted these special pens by engraving on the barrel the typical cuneiform script of this famous Mesopotamian civilization dating back to 4000 BC and which, in addition to being the first sedentary population and giving itself a form of government based on the city-state, created the so-called 'edubba' (house of tablets), considered the first schools of humanity appearing around the third millennium BC. The homeland of this people is the southeastern part of present-day Iraq where, even today, it is possible to visit the remains of the characteristic ziggurats, temples that reproduced the shape of a mountain, home of the gods of Sumerian worship.
