Montblanc Patron of Art Sir Henry Tate Edizione Limitata 4810 fountain pen with lacquer body and platinum plating, produced in Germany in 2006, length 13.3 cm, diameter 1.7 cm, serial number 1383/4810, in pristine unused condition.
Description from the seller
Beautiful Montblanc Patron of Art fountain pen Sir Henry Tate, released in 2006, limited to 4,810 pieces worldwide. It celebrates the famous British sugar magnate and great patron of the arts. The tool's design draws directly from the neoclassical architecture of Tate Britain in London, financed by him: the body and cap, entirely platinum-plated, create a bold, geometric visual contrast with refined red lacquer in guilloché work. The cap is topped with the brand's iconic ivory-colored star, while the rings echo the decorative elements of the museum building. The true technical novelty lies in the retractable nib: by rotating the end of the barrel, the 18-carat solid gold nib plated with platinum emerges from the body. On the precious metal is finely engraved a sugar cane plant, an explicit homage to the raw material that built Tate's industrial fortune. Nib point fine (F) the pen is in excellent condition, like new and full set, with box, inner box, and documents. A rarity for a pen of this caliber.
