Description from the seller
Rudolf Draheim (born 1941 in Dembno, West Prussia), German painter and graphic artist
Title: Panta Rhei, List 2003 (21–20)
Year of creation: 1993
Technique: oil on canvas
Dimensions: 40 × 40 cm
Framing: Unframed on stretched canvas
Signature: Signed lower left by the artist and dated “93”
Unique: Yes
The square oil painting comes from Rudolf Draheim’s body of work at “Panta Rhei.” The expression, originating from Greek, means “Everything flows” and describes the idea of a world in a perpetual process of change.
The composition is dominated by intense blues, greens and yellows, with individual red and dark color fields. Horizontal, sometimes smeared color transitions meet strong vertical forms and thickly applied passages. This creates an abstract, atmospheric image landscape that oscillates between movement, spatial depth and color intensification.
Rudolf Draheim began painting in 1981 and was a co-founder of the Nalepa Gallery in Berlin in 1984. His works have been shown, among others, at the Münchhausen Museum in Bodenwerder, the Georgian National Museum in Tiflis, the HeroAll Art Salon in Chengdu and at the Fetzer Gallery. Since 1997, works by the artist have been part of the German Bundestag collection. Additional works are in corporate and private collections.
The work comes from a private collection.
The work is in good overall condition. No major damages or noticeable restorations are visible.
The painting will be shipped unframed and on the stretched canvas. Shipping is carried out carefully and securely packaged. Pickup by appointment is also possible.
