Description from the seller

ALBIZEN - "THE WALL FALL" (La chute du mur) - NO RESERVE -

- AN IDEAL and ORIGINAL ACQUISITION to begin or complete a collection of artworks)

The fall of the Berlin Wall takes place on the night of November 9, 1989 when East Berliners, warned by Western German media of the decision by East German authorities to no longer require advance authorization for travel to West Germany (FRG) in drip-feed fashion, - the opening of the checkpoints between East Berlin and West Berlin, occurs without violence. A new era opens. Albizen, present in Berlin at that exact moment, captured in painting this extraordinary event that marked history.

The artistic influences, conscious or not, are always interesting.
They complete existing works, give them new life, a new breath.
In the presented work, the artist goes further in symbolism, of the fall of the Berlin Wall, his personal way of ensuring we never forget.
-
Lithograph authorized, 42.5 x 30.5 – on thick lithographic paper - signed and numbered 7/12, hand-signed by the artist, This Litho has become a rare piece, all the more since the edition was limited to only 12 copies. Created and engraved by the Franz Jacob Hoffen Ateliers.
Shipping includes an authenticity certificate and a fingerprint.
It is valued by collectors at between 600 & 700 €
Albizen, well-regarded by experts on the list of emerging artists to bet on.
- Indeed, how much did a Hans Hartung, Pierre Soulages or Antoni Tapies work cost 30 or 40 years ago?... how much do they cost today?...

- ALBIZEN, (1949) contemporary painter - undoubtedly influenced by Antoni Tapies, Pierre Soulages, Hans Hartung, Arman, Calder, César and other art compressors, Albizen has quietly slipped among the greats and found his rightful place.
Albizen is not a prolific artist; few works circulate, this one being among his major works.
Albizen, a world citizen artist, who lives as his current affairs dictate, sometimes in Montreal, New York, Berlin, London, Tuscany, Netanya or Paris
PS: ALBIZEN recently exhibited at PARIS ART CAPITAL - GRAND PALAIS/Paris in February 2024 and February 2025.
-
Artwork Well protected with vaulting and insured, international shipping by Fedex.
