Gordon & MacPhail bottled this Caol Ila Single Cask Whisky for its Private Collection. The whisky has matured for a proud 36 years in the refill American Hogshead with cask number 3629, bottling 177 bottles with an alcohol content of 53.9 percent by volume. Dyes and cooling filtration were dispensed with.

Nosing: The whisky confronts the nose with typical Islay smoke. Behind it are fine notes of vanilla and citrus. Roasted aromas and iodine penetrate. Malt is present. Orange provides fruity notes and smoked bacon for spice.
Tasting: The Gordon & MacPhail Caol Ila 36 Years lies firmly on the tongue. It tastes like sweet smoke. Salt is present and iodine. Behind it are fresh citrus notes and mint.
Finish: The finish is long-lasting. The whisky from barrel 3629 says goodbye with sweet malt and smoke. It leaves notes of walnut and oak.
