Description from the seller
In this auction we present an authentic cornerstone of institutional elegance, the writing instrument par excellence declined in its most imposing and prestigious format: the Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand Roller Pen (Model 162) Gold Line.
Characterized by its generous dimensions and substantial diameter (the LeGrand format, markedly more "bulky" compared to the classic Classique format), this pen offers perfect balance and an authoritative presence, ideal for those with large hands or who prefer writing instruments with significant weight and thickness. The body and cap are crafted from the traditional deep black precious resin, mirror-polished to create a magnificent and timeless contrast with the bright yellow-gold plated finishes. We find the classic teardrop clip and the three iconic institutional rings, of which the central one, thicker, bears the brand inscription. Crowned atop the cap is the unmistakable emblem of the white Montblanc star.
From a technical standpoint, the exemplar is configured for liquid ink writing (rollerball). The cap, equipped with a secure screw closure, protects the nib and can be conveniently screwed onto the end cap during use. As extensively documented by the photographs showing the pen disassembled, this model uses the specific LeGrand Rollerball refills: unlike standard formats, the LeGrand refill has its own front threading and screws firmly into the grip section, ensuring absolute stability of the tip during writing.
The condition of the item is to be considered generally excellent. The precious resin retains a splendid gloss and is structurally perfect, completely free of cracks, chips, or obvious defects; only very light and physiological micro-scratches (hairlines) resulting from normal, careful, occasional use are present. The yellow-gold plating remains intact, shiny, and free of oxidation. Please note that the lot consists exclusively of the pen, without the original box or documents.
