EL Loko (Edoh Lucien Loko, 1950–2016)
"Tolerance", 2000
Signed and numbered color lithograph in five colors on Hahnemühle cardboard. The work was created in 2000 and belongs to the portfolio "Kunstkoffer – Dialogue of Cultures", issued for EXPO 2000 in Hannover. The portfolio united works by 13 international artists. africartmarket.today
The characteristic composition shows a stylized, stele-like form with bird and egg motifs. It is connected with EL Loko’s since the 1990s developed visual language of the "Cosmic Letters", in which signs, symbols and reduced figures are blended into a universal visual language.
The sheet is numbered 37/100 in the lower left, designated "Tolerance" in the lower center, and signed and dated in the lower right with "EL Loko 2000".
