Description from the seller
Vintage Czechoslovak Petrol Lighter – Figural Relief Decoration – Fully Functional – Excellent Condition
Offered for auction is a very attractive and unusual vintage petrol lighter of Czechoslovak origin, preserved in remarkably good condition.
The lighter features a distinctive decorative outer case with a striking raised figural relief. The sculptural decoration gives the piece considerable character and makes it particularly interesting as a collectible Central European smoking accessory.
The outer case has the appearance of silver and displays an attractive naturally aged surface. However, no silver hallmark has been found and the material has not been professionally tested. It is therefore described conservatively as silver-coloured metal, possibly silver, but this cannot be guaranteed.
CONDITION AND FUNCTIONALITY:
The lighter is fully functional and the mechanical ignition system operates correctly.
The piece appears to have seen very little use and may possibly have remained unused for much of its life. The overall state of preservation is particularly attractive for a vintage lighter.
The mechanism, body and decorative relief are well preserved, with only minor traces consistent with age and storage.
The lighter is accompanied by the small red box and wrapping shown in the photographs.
Origin: Czechoslovakia
Type: Petrol / wick lighter
Material of outer case: Silver-coloured metal, possibly silver – not hallmarked and not professionally tested
Decoration: Raised figural relief
Condition: Very good vintage condition, apparently very little used
Functionality: Fully functional
The combination of its unusual figural decoration, Czechoslovak origin, excellent state of preservation and fully functioning mechanism makes this a particularly appealing piece for collectors of vintage lighters and historical smoking accessories.
Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description and provide the best impression of the condition, construction and decorative details.
A charming and unusual Czechoslovak vintage lighter, fully functional and preserved in exceptionally attractive condition.
