Description from the seller
Beautiful set of 5 antique porcelain Bistro Pyramides / Allumetiers / Lucifer holders, France, 19th century
Add an authentic touch of French café culture and Art Nouveau nostalgia to your interior with this splendid set of 5 antique porcelain match holders / bistro pyramides / allumetiers or porte-allumettes.
Around 1900 these elegant holders were placed on tables in French bistros and cafés. They served not only for matches, but the ribbed exterior also functioned as an ironing surface. The prints formed a unique way of advertising for well-known liqueurs, apéritifs, beverages and commercial brands.

The set is in particularly good condition and can be used as is!
