Ruedi Pfirter (1936) - Chärtlima

Ruedi Pfirter (1936, Thalwil).

"Chärtlima," 1980.
Color woodcut; hand-signed, titled, and numbered by the Swiss artist.

Edition of only 35 copies.
Dimensions: 66.5 x 50.5 cm.

Figurative work with elements bordering on geometric and expressionist abstraction. Conceptually, much of his woodcut work is rooted in a folkloric narrative that captures Swiss mysticism, characters, and local legends.
