Article: ESTERBROOK FOUNTAIN PEN in green marbled celluloid with clip, rings and ribbed cap in chrome-plated metal
Reference / Edition: Series J, interchangeable nib Re-New-Point 2556 (Firm Fine)
Length: 12.1 cm
Diameter: 1 cm
Period: 1940s–1950s
Materials: Body and cap in green marbled celluloid, nib in steel DuroChrome marked "ESTERBROOK 2556 MADE IN U.S.A.", feed in black ebonite, clip and rings in chrome-plated metal. Side-lever filling system with internal sac.
Condition: Good overall condition for a vintage used piece. The celluloid retains its shine and the green veining is very vivid, with fine signs of use and micro-scratches spread across the body and cap, noticeable especially against the light. The chrome plating on the clip, rings, and tip shows light wear and loss of shine typical of age. On the body there is a name engraved in cursive, a period personalization. The nib appears straight, with the tines aligned and undamaged. The filling system has not been tested; as a vintage side-lever with sac, it may require the reservoir to be replaced for everyday use.
Accessories: Only the loose piece; no box or papers are visible in the photos.
The photographs are part of the description.
