Description from the seller
Artist: Gianfranco Ferroni (signed in pencil "ferroni" bottom right)
Title of the work: Objects in the Studio (or Work Table)
Technique: Original color lithograph (executed in multiple colors)
Edition size: 68 / 120 (edition number 68 of a total edition of only 120 sheets marked with arabic numerals, written in pencil bottom left)
Printer / Publisher: La Conchiglia, Rome (certified by the unmistakable square dry stamp with the geometric "X" inscribed, visible in the corner of the paper).
La Conchiglia was a very important art printing workshop that collaborated closely with the great masters of Italian postwar modernism.
Iconography and Style: Represents one of his iconic "white" studio still lifes.
On the table you can make out jars with brushes soaking, tubes of color crushed in the foreground, cups and working vessels. A blot of paint (one "splatter") on the background wall breaks the strict geometry of the composition, inserting an element of gestural spontaneity within his typical and rigorous control of space.
The overall condition is excellent:
The paper preserves a healthy tone, without significant yellowing or unsightly damp stains (foxing).
The deckle and margins of the sheet are intact, preserving the original fiber.
The dry stamp is impressed clearly, without flattening or deformation of the surrounding paper.
