Description from the seller
Splendid and elegant original graphic work (color lithograph) by master Gianni Dova (1925-1991), among the most significant and influential figures in Milan's postwar avant-garde scene, associated with Spatialism and Nuclear Painting.
The work fully expresses the refined, surrealist-tinged sensibilities typical of the artist's maturity. The composition unfolds around an anthropomorphic figure enveloped in washes and pastels in tones of acid green, pink, and blue, finely contrasted with the black, geometric fields in the foreground. An excellent testament to Dova's ability to fuse chromatic lyricism with the decomposition of forms.
The piece belongs to a highly precious and exclusive edition, numbered in Roman numerals.
- Pencil numbering in the upper right corner: XVII / XXV (Exemplar number 17 out of a very limited edition of only 25 copies worldwide).
- Autograph signature "Dova" in pencil at the top left.
- Condition: Good state of preservation, clear and saturated colors, sheet pristine and never framed. Provenance from private collection.
