Description from the seller
Mario Giacomelli — Il mare dei miei racconti
A fragment of summer transformed into a landscape of memory. From Il mare dei miei racconti, this vintage gelatin silver print belongs to the aerial photographs taken between 1983 and 1987 over the beach of Senigallia.
The beach becomes a page on which light, shadows and small presences leave their traces. What might ordinarily disappear within the familiarity of a summer afternoon acquires a different intensity when seen from above. The photograph suspends the scene between recognition and reverie: a real place that begins to feel like a remembered one.
The title, Il mare dei miei racconti — “The Sea of My Stories” — offers a poetic way into the image. This is a landscape to inhabit through memory rather than simply observe. Its textured surface and scattered dark accents suggest a quiet visual language, one in which the spaces between things matter as much as the things themselves.
For the collector, this print offers a contemplative expression of Giacomelli’s photographic world: neither simply a beach view nor purely an abstraction, but a meeting of place, time and imagination. Presented with a passe-partout in a frame fitted with museum glass, it is ready to become a distinctive presence within a carefully considered collection.
