Description from the seller

Peterson System Standard 313 – Fully Restored, c. 1937–1963

A classic rusticated Peterson System Standard in the compact and highly recognisable 313 shape, fitted with its traditional P-Lip mouthpiece and nickel army mount.

Based on the 313 shape designation and the traditional K&P nickel-mount markings, this example most probably dates from between 1937 and 1963. More precise dating is unfortunately no longer possible, as the original country-of-manufacture stamping could not be preserved.

This estate pipe has undergone a comprehensive restoration. The chamber, draught channel and System reservoir were thoroughly cleaned and sanitised, including repeated alcohol treatments. The heavily soiled rim was carefully restored and its rustic texture reconstructed where necessary.

The bowl received a new contrast finish, consisting of a deep dark-brown base with warm orange-mahogany highlights applied by hand to accentuate the rustication. The vulcanite P-Lip mouthpiece was cleaned and polished, its fit carefully corrected, and the nickel mount polished while retaining its original K&P Peterson’s markings and decorative Irish symbols.

For complete transparency: before restoration, the nomenclature on the briar had already become so faint through age and intensive use that it could only be discerned with a jeweller’s loupe. Because the condition of the bowl required extensive surface restoration and complete restaining, these remaining traces could unfortunately not be preserved.

The result is a clean, attractive and fully functional vintage Peterson System pipe with a rich traditional finish and a secure mouthpiece fit. It retains minor signs of its long working life, as may be expected from a well-used estate pipe of this age.

Dimensions:
*Length 12,5 cm.
*tobacco chamber 18x35 mm. (All sizes approximately.)

This item will be carefully packed and shipped with full insurance.
