Description from the seller
Takamine ALL SOLID Cedar and Rosewood Acoustic/Electric Classical Guitar, model CP-132SC, 1991
The guitar sounds magnificent.
You would be hard-pressed to find this kind of sound in modern classical guitars in the same price range.
Some signs of age, as shown in the photos.
Takamine CP-132SC from August 1991, an all solid handmade in Nakatsugawa, Gifu, Japan electro-acoustic classical guitar with cutaway with fine grained Canadian cedar top, back and sides of impressively figured rosewood, one-piece mahogany neck with slim D-shaped neck profile, fine rosewood fingerboard, 51mm wide bone nut, smooth-running Takamine gold tuners with mother-of-pearl pegs and active Takamine Equalizer pickup system in a shiny natural high gloss finish with lavish ornaments made of precious woods in excellent condition incl. original Takamine hardshell case.
For decades, the traditional Japanese company Takamine has been one of the world's leading guitar builders in the field of acoustic and concert guitars, offering high craftsmanship at a price that is second to none. This CP-132SC is the best proof of that: The instrument enjoys - typical Japan - an extremely precise quality of workmanship and combines meticulously selected, solid tonewoods with a sophisticated sound pickup system to one of the very best all-round concert guitars for the stage at all. No wonder, then, that the model has been built since the 1980s to this day (in slightly modified form)!
The CP-132SC comes with a select Canadian cedar top, which along with a boldly figured rosewood body for a richly brilliant, balanced tone with standing bass and treble adorned with ample harmonics. A hand-carved, one-piece mahogany neck lies immediately extremely comfortable in the hand with its slim, rounded D-neck profile, and the fine rosewood fingerboard allows to effortlessly finger even complex fingerings up to the 19th fret thanks to the 51mm-wide bone nut and cutaway.
The instrument has a melodious timbre with excellent dynamic response, which sounds both plugged and unplugged differentiated, balanced and sweet-clear. Despite the cutaway, the guitar has plenty of volume, the sustain is amazing and the traditional build provides a great foundation for a variety of playing techniques and directions: whether fingerpicking, classical pieces or fingerstyle, the guitar is very versatile and feels equally at home with classical as well as folk and modern genres.
The guitar is also equipped with the Takamine Equalizer pickup system, which offers an acoustic clear-authentic concert guitar sound live. Gain and 3-band EQ can be adjusted via the preamp recessed in the frame.
The guitar impresses the eye with a thin high-gloss finish, under which the tonewood grain is successfully accentuated. Lovely details like rosewood bindings with multi-layer purflings and shiny gold Japan tuners with white mother-of-pearl swirls complete the sublime appearance.
