Description from the seller
Roger Decaux (1919-1995) - Abstract Geometric Studio (From Atelier)
Splendid original mixed media artwork (felt-tip pen, ink, and gouache) on paper by the French artist Roger Decaux (1919-1995). Best known for his powerful Figurative Expressionism, Decaux also stood out for a sophisticated abstract-geometric graphic production, influenced by his close associations with Gino Severini and the co-foundation of the avant-garde group "Contraste".
The work shows a rigorous, fully abstract composition, characterized by bold black lines standing out against a saturated acid-yellow background, highlighting the extraordinary mastery of the line typical of the master.
• Signature: Hand-signed by the artist on the front.
• Atelier Stamp: On the reverse, the sheet bears the original blind stamp of the artist's Estate/Atelier, with the archive initials "P.H." in pencil.
• Size: Approx. 33 x 26 cm (mounted on a larger white protective display board for exhibition).
• Provenance: Private collection, acquired from the French art market.*
• Shipping: Tracked, safe, and flat shipping in a protected rigid package.*
