— Between urban walls and abstraction
JM ROBERT draws inspiration from city walls, their successive layers, graffiti, traces and wear. His work transforms these urban fragments into abstract compositions where matter and color seem to accumulate, like a façade over time.
Paint, signs, spontaneous gestures and impasto layers overlap to create raw, colorful, and deeply contemporary works. Between the energy of graffiti and the freedom of abstraction, JM ROBERT composes a visual language where each layer reveals or conceals the one beneath.
Thus, his canvases become pieces of imaginary walls: fragments of a city reinterpreted through painting.
