Pittyvaich Flora & Fauna 12 year old, 70 cl, 43% ABV, a single malt from the Pittyvaich distillery in Speyside, Scotland.
Description from the seller
Pittyvaich 12 Year Old Flora & Fauna is a rare single malt from the now demolished Pittyvaich distillery, a Speyside distillery that operated for only a short period between 1975 and 1993. As one of the few official bottlings ever released, it has become highly sought after by whisky enthusiasts and collectors alike.
On the nose, it offers delicate aromas of orchard fruits, honey, vanilla, fresh malt and floral notes, accompanied by hints of citrus and soft spices. The palate is light to medium-bodied, revealing flavors of ripe apples, pears, toffee, cereals and gentle oak, balanced by a subtle sweetness and elegant complexity. The finish is smooth, clean and moderately long, with lingering notes of fruit, malt and light spices.
Unlike many modern Speyside whiskies, the Pittyvaich 12 Flora & Fauna displays a distinctive old-school character, combining elegance, freshness and complexity. It is not peated, or at most shows only negligible background earthiness from production methods rather than any intentional peat influence.
Today, the Pittyvaich 12 Flora & Fauna is regarded as one of the classic "lost distillery" bottlings, representing a unique opportunity to experience a whisky style that can never be reproduced. For collectors, it remains one of the most accessible and authentic expressions of a closed Speyside distillery.
