Description from the seller

"Gato negro" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by the contemporary artist Ernest García.

The work presents a vibrant interior in which a black cat occupies the foreground, surrounded by a colorful domestic scene. A large red armchair, a blue table with a bowl of fruit and a vase of flowers build a warm and welcoming composition.

The palette is articulated through strong contrasts between reds, blues, yellows and oranges. The dark silhouette of the cat stands out clearly on the coral-toned floor, becoming a small but powerful focal point. The flowers and fruits also provide elements of still life within the scene.

The visible brushwork, the simplification of forms and the expressive use of color connect the work with the tradition of Fauvism and modern figurative painting, with decorative echoes of Henri Matisse, understood only as aesthetic affinities.

A cheerful and highly decorative piece that combines interior design, still life and animal painting. Especially appealing to collectors interested in cats, colorful interiors, still lifes, flowers, contemporary figurative painting and color-intense compositions.

The work is offered directly by E. García, guaranteeing its authenticity with a certificate signed by the artist himself.
