E. García - Montañas y lago XL

"Mountains and Lake" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García.

The work presents an open view toward a water and mountain landscape seen from inside a dwelling. A large green door, slightly ajar, guides the gaze outward, where the luminous blue of the lake extends to meet the mountain slopes on the horizon.
The composition plays with the effect of a painting within a painting: the architecture frames the landscape and creates a pronounced sense of depth. The warm tones of the interior —reds, oranges and yellows— contrast with the blues and greens of the exterior, reinforcing the transition between the domestic space and nature.

The visible brushwork and the simplification of forms lend spontaneity to the scene, while the expressive use of color links the work to the Fauvist tradition and to modern landscape painting, with echoes of Henri Matisse understood solely as aesthetic affinities.

A luminous and serene work that evokes the feeling of opening a door directly onto the landscape. Especially appealing to collectors interested in lakes, mountains, Mediterranean landscapes, views from windows and doors, nature, and contemporary figurative painting.
