Rare portfolio/work devoted to André Masson (1896–1987), published in Japan in 1974 by Bijutsu Shuppan-sha, with a text by Roger Passeron.

The offered copy is numbered 287/450, as indicated on the justification page reproduced photographically.

This limited edition includes, for the numbered copies 51 to 450, three original color lithographs by André Masson, integrated into the work.

The original lithographs were printed by F. Mourlot, Paris, the renowned workshop that worked with the greatest artists of the 20th century.

The first 50 copies of the edition included, in addition, an etching and a signed and numbered lithograph by Masson. These two additional prints are not part of this present copy no. 287.

The work is presented in its original portfolio case, with a cloth binding bearing the name of Antoni Clavé and its illustrated dust jacket.

Condition: old book showing normal signs of age. The outer case shows scuffs, stains, and wear, notably at the corners and edges. The lithographs show a few small humidity blemishes/toning, mainly visible on the reverse and in the margins. The prints printed on the recto are nevertheless well preserved and the colors remain beautiful. Please study the numerous photographs, which are an integral part of the description.
