A member of the prestigious Vienna Secession from 1907 to 1939, Oswald Roux’s artistic style is primarily defined as Post-Impressionist, with strong influences from the Secession movement and *genre* painting (depictions of everyday life). Unlike the more radical members of the Vienna Secession (such as Gustav Klimt or Egon Schiele), who gravitated toward Symbolism or pure Expressionism, Roux maintained an approach deeply rooted in nature, animal realism, and genre scenes.
