Joseph Beuys (1921-1986) - Titus/Iphigenia" Xerox print / Ute Klophhaus

Joseph Beuys (1921-1986).

"Titus/Iphigenia"

Xerox print of Ute Klophhaus's famous photograph of the performance by Joseph Beuys in 1969.

Hand-signed by Joseph Beuys.

This print was produced in a very limited edition in Cologne by the Monschau Gallery.

The image, which conveys the artist's charisma, intensity and singular energy, was captured on May 29, 1969, during the Experiment 3 Festival at the Theater am Turm in Frankfurt am Main. It symbolizes the human reality of harmony, poetry, and healing through love and words (Goethe's Iphigenia) and violence, cruelty, indolence and despair (Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus).

Sheet mounted on a passe-partout.
Framed with acrylic glass, 43 x 32 cm.
