Description from the seller
Overview
This is an early Swiss L.U.C mechanical pocket watch with strong period character and refined traditional watchmaking details. L.U.C represents the initials of Louis-Ulysse Chopard and is closely associated with the early history of Chopard watchmaking.
The white enamel-style dial features elegant stylised Arabic numerals, a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock and highly decorative gilt-tone hands. The 0.800 silver case is finished with fine guilloché decoration on the back and a vacant shield-shaped cartouche, while the interior reveals a highly interesting 15-jewel L.U.C movement with numerous traditional technical specifications clearly marked.
The most notable highlights are the L.U.C heritage, 0.800 silver case, and the 15-jewel movement marked for straight-line lever escapement, cut balance and Breguet hairspring.
