Description from the seller
This instrument holds a piece of the musical history of León, Spain. This guitar was built in the mid-1980s or 1990s. It bears the original label of Casa San José, founded in the late 1950s on the emblematic Pozo Street No. 2. It was the first specialized music shop in the city, a historic meeting point for musicians and students who commissioned high-quality instruments from prestigious luthiers.
Although it carries the distributor shop label, it is actually an artisanal piece crafted by the excellent luthier Rafael Molina Mervi (Valencia). This luthier is highly regarded for his high-quality guitars. He has also worked with very renowned luthiers such as Ricardo Sanchis, Vicente Sanchis, Hermanos Tatay Vitato, and many other famous luthiers.
What gives it a historical and acoustic value far superior to that of a mass-produced guitar.
Guitar materials:
• Aros y Fondo: Palisandro, with a clean figure and very beautiful grain that guarantee deep bass projection and prolonged sustain.
• Tapa: Cedar with fine grain and high acoustic response.
• Diapasón: Dense and hard ebony, which guarantees maximum resistance to wear and a very agile feel.
Instrument condition:
It is in very good cosmetic and functional condition. The wood remains in perfect structural condition, shows normal signs of use due to its age and some superficial scratches in the varnish typical of time passing.
On the upper right of the soundboard there is a small varnish defect that is purely cosmetic and does not affect the wood’s structure or its sound quality at all. Straight neck, very firm construction and comfortable playability along the entire fretboard.
And a very bright and versatile sound.
String height:
• Saddle height: 10.1 mm
• Nut at 12th fret height: 3.2 mm
• Scale length: 655 mm
Instrument dimensions:
Length: 99 cm
Width: 36 cm
Height: 10 cm
