Antique 800 Silver Pocket Watch – Remontoir Cylindre 10 Rubis – Louis XV Hands – Floral Engraving – Circa 1900 – 43mm
SHORT DESCRIPTION
An elegant antique gentleman’s pocket watch crafted from 800 silver, dating from approximately 1890–1910, featuring decorative elements of late Historicism and early Art Nouveau.
The beautifully decorated silver case features delicate floral engravings and an elegant, unengraved cartouche intended for personal initials. The case bears the German crescent and crown silver hallmark, as well as the Swiss capercaillie hallmark, traditionally associated with 800 silver.
The classic white enamel dial features black Arabic numerals, a fine minute track, a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock and beautifully crafted rose-gold-tone Louis XV hands.
Inside is a traditional Swiss mechanical cylinder escapement movement with 10 jewels, featuring gold-coloured bridges, crown winding and an Avance / Retard regulator.
