Very well preserved, with slight signs of handling as shown in the photographs.
A camera capable of producing clearer images was used to capture the composition of the landscape. The tones are dark.

Sir Frank Short revived and perfected traditional printmaking techniques that were falling into disuse, particularly mezzotint. He produced a celebrated series of prints and interpretations based on J.M.W. Turner's *Liber Studiorum*, recreating the master's landscapes with admirable precision and technical devotion. He also collaborated closely with figures of the stature of John Ruskin and James McNeill Whistler. His style is distinguished by its ability to capture the subtle nuances of light in the British climate—especially mists, overcast skies, water reflections, and the transitions of dawn and dusk.
