Description from the seller
A0000005296
Item: MONTBLANC fountain pen in brown swirled celluloid tiger’s eye pattern "tiger eye" with gold trim
Reference / Edition: Montblanc 242 G
Length: 13 cm closed (approximate)
Diameter: 1.2 cm (approximate)
Period: 1950s (German manufacture, c. 1950-1954)
Materials: Body and cap in brown swirled striated tiger’s eye pattern celluloid, paddle-shaped clip and double gold-tone cap rings, matching celluloid section, nib in 14-carat gold (585) with Montblanc logo engraving, piston-filler with knurled button under the rear cap.
Condition: Good condition for its age. The celluloid retains shine and the pattern appears very vivid, with no visible cracks or deformations; micro-scratches from use are distributed across the body and cap. In the gold-plated parts there is wear to the plating, more marked at the edges of the clip and in the cap rings. The nib appears intact and well aligned, with the tines joined. The mechanism’s operation has not been tested.
Accessories: Only the loose piece; no box, case, or papers observed in the photos.
