Description from the seller
Vintage LANCEL 75-22 Table Lighter (1930s) – Art Deco, FULLY FUNCTIONAL
For sale: an exceptional collector's item—a vintage semi-automatic table (desk) lighter produced in France by the renowned luxury house Lancel Paris, estimated to date from the 1930–1950 period (pure Art Deco style).
The lighter is FULLY FUNCTIONAL (the mechanism triggers promptly, the wheel produces a strong spark, and the wick ignites instantly—see photos). It operates using lighter fluid (Zippo-style).
Technical and aesthetic details:
Original markings on the base: Features the official "LANCEL" stamp, the patent number "BTE S.G.D.G. 75-22," and the origin mark "FAB. FRANCE."
Design: Heavy, solid metal casing featuring fine "engine-turned" style engravings (vertical lines in the center and a textured geometric zigzag pattern on the sides).
Condition: The internal mechanism is in exceptional condition (strong springs, serrated wheel with clean teeth, minimal wear). The exterior displays an authentic historical patina: the chrome plating has naturally thinned on the top lid due to decades of use, revealing the warm brass underneath—a feature that gives it unique character.
A refined object, ideal for completing a tobacco or antiques collection, a memorable gift, or a distinctive accessory for an elegant desk.
