Gomma, from a performance lasting 45 years – 1971
Important original work by Elio Marchegiani, a prominent figure in Italian artistic research of the second half of the 20th century, known for the experimentation with industrial materials and for the dialogue between painting, sculpture and installation.
The work, titled “Gomma, da una performance durata 45 anni”, is realized in 1971 with rubber elements, presented in a glass case with an aluminum structure, following the minimalist and conceptual language typical of the artist.
The composition consists of vulcanized rubber fragments arranged in formal balance inside the display case, creating a refined play of solids and voids. The piece testifies to Marchegiani’s ongoing exploration of the expressive value of matter and the transformation of industrial material into artistic language.
The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Arteinvestimenti / Still S.r.l. on May 27, 2024.
