Bernard Aubertin, Clous, 1966, mixed media on panel, original edition, in good condition, origin Germany, concept art, signed by hand, framed with a wooden case, dimensions with frame 34 × 44 cm.
Description from the seller
Bernard Aubertin
This artist was part of the Düsseldorf Zero Group in the 1960s, and his works are in several international museums.
This work is very particular and different from the usual Tableau Clous; we can consider it one of the earliest trials. It was executed in 1966. The nails were fixed into the board up to the edges, whereas in the subsequent Tableau Clous he always left a margin of 1 cm on each edge.
The dimensions are quite unusual: height 18.5 cm, width 29.5 cm. Then he fixed the nails, 4 cm in length, in a very irregular pattern; this is clearly visible from the back of the work.
The piece was created in 1966 and is in excellent condition.
On the back, in the lower right, the artist wrote “CLOUS,” then signed and dated everything in pen, “Bernard Aubertin 1966.” Always to the right, above the signature and date, there is also a stamp from the Centro di Brescia Gallery indicating the first provenance; the same stamp appears also in the upper left.
Framed with a wooden box; the total dimensions of the work with the frame are:
Height 34 cm – Width 44 cm – Depth 5.5 cm
Photos of both the front and the back
Archive Bernard Aubertin N. TCLR66-1000454923
Provenance of the work:
Galleria Centro Brescia
Private collection of Milan.
Trackable shipment.
