AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

John Coltrane – Settin’ the Pace

A fantastic first US mono pressing of John Coltrane’s Settin’ the Pace, released in 1961 on Prestige Records (PRLP 7213). This original edition features the desirable yellow and black New Jersey labels with deep grooves. AB (Abbey) pressing!

Condition:
Cover: VG+, with some signs of age and handling. The spine is in particularly nice condition.
Vinyl: VG+, with visible signs of use but in very good overall condition.

Recorded in 1958, this excellent hard bop session features John Coltrane on tenor saxophone, Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Art Taylor on drums. The album includes fantastic performances of “I See Your Face Before Me,” “If There Is Someone Lovelier Than You,” “Little Melonae” and “Rise ’N’ Shine.” A wonderful example of Coltrane’s early work with the legendary Prestige label and a great addition to any jazz collection.
