Pair of Montblanc writing instruments from the 1960s–1980s: a Montblanc No. 24 fountain pen in black resin with gold-plated accents and a 14K gold nib, and a Montblanc Noblesse Slimline stainless steel ballpoint with the engraved “NOBLESSE - GERMANY” on the clip and a German advertising inscription on the body, both in good used condition and tested to be functional.
Description from the seller
For sale are two noble, carefully inspected high-quality German vintage writing instruments dating from the 1960s to the 1980s. Both pieces come from a well-kept collection liquidation, have been tested for function recently, and are in an honest, collectible original condition.
1. Montblanc No. 24 Fountain Pen (Cartridge/Converter Filler)
Production period: 1960s | Material: Black resin with gold-plated accents and the iconic white Montblanc star on the cap. Nib: Original 14-karat / 585 gold nib. The nib shows a charming, age-related reddish gold patina (tarnish marks from decades of storage), which underlines the authenticity of the untouched original state. Condition & function: Excellent, visually scratch-free condition. The ink sight window is fully intact and clear. The piston mechanism is 100% functional, runs smoothly, and draws water perfectly (successfully tested).
2. Montblanc Noblesse Slimline Ballpoint Pen (Stainless Steel)
Production period: 1970s / 1980s | Material: Brushed stainless steel with the white Montblanc emblem on the push button. Engravings/embossings: Under the clip finely engraved with “NOBLESSE - GERMANY.” Additionally, there is a fine, historically interesting promotional engraving on the body from the traditional German “ASTA” works AG (Bielefeld-Brackwede). Condition & function: The click mechanism engages cleanly and without fault. The stainless steel housing shows typical signs of wear and storage, in the form of fine rubbing marks on the shaft and small superficial oxidation spots (surface rust) directly above the cap band (see honest detail photos). There are no deep dents or deformations. Note on the refill: The pen contains the original, old Montblanc refill including the original blue plastic adapter cap for the mechanism (essential for function and highly sought after by collectors!). Surprisingly, the old refill still writes at least a little.
Overall condition of the lot:
A fantastic, honest set for lovers of classic German writing culture. The fountain pen and the ballpoint pen are both immediately usable and technically tested.
