Description from the seller
Oil painting on cardboard by the Spanish Salvador Reverte. Fresh, bright work.
Salvador Reverte Mulero (1930 – August 2020) was a Spanish painter who, although born in Albacete, is known as a true "Cartagenero de adopción" because he spent most of his life living and working in the coastal city of Cartagena (Murcia). He is regarded as one of the most valued traditional painters of that city.
Reverte pursued his artistic training in the prestigious studio of Vicente Ros. This was an important creative center in Cartagena where he studied and mingled with well-known local contemporaries and artists such as Ramón Alonso Luzzy and Enrique Gabriel Navarro.
His work falls under traditional realism. He specialized mainly in:
• Still lifes (bodegones) and lush floral arrangements (especially roses and daisies) painted with oil on panel or canvas.
• Landscapes and maritime scenes, inspired by the surroundings of the Murcia region.
