JR – Unframed, un Groupe Posant Dans une Barque – Limited 12-Color Lithography (2019)
For sale is an extraordinary and highly limited original lithograph by the renowned French urban-art artist JR, printed by the legendary Idem Paris print shop.
The work comes from JR's famous “Unframed” series. For this project in 2013, JR deeply explored the identity and history of the La Belle de Mai neighborhood in Marseille. He asked residents to open their personal family albums. This historical motif of a group in a boat on the shore (Marseille, ca. 1930) was monumentally enlarged by him, pasted in public space, and finally immortalized in this high-end edition print.
