Extremely Rare Dunhill Rollagas lighter "Bordeaux Gold Dust" – Chinese Lacquer & Gold Dust (Swiss Made, 1970s)

Description: An extremely rare and fascinating piece of collecting history: an Alfred Dunhill Rollagas lighter, in the highly sought-after "Bordeaux Gold Dust" finish (burgundy Chinese lacquer with embedded gold dust/flakes) and gold-plated details. The iconic Rollagas model was originally designed by Conrad Zellweger and introduced by Dunhill in the 1950s as a symbol of absolute refinement and Swiss engineering (La Nationale). The side-roller ignition system and the famous snap-lid closure with a "click" represent one of the most celebrated and imitated patents in the world.

The lacquered variant was introduced by Dunhill starting in 1972, combining mechanical precision with the ancient art of lacquering. This 1970s specimen showcases a warm burgundy hue embellished with a striking "gold dust" effect, featuring a unique three-dimensional texture under the light.

Technical Details:
• Manufacturer: Alfred Dunhill (Swiss Made)
• Model: Rollagas
• Period: 1970s
• Finish: Natural burgundy Chinese lacquer with gold flakes (Gold Dust) and gold-plated trim
• Dimensions: approx. 6.2 cm x 2.4 cm x 1.2 cm
• Hallmarks: "Dunhill" logo engraved inside the lid and on the base, marked "Swiss Made" with official maker's mark

Condition: The lighter is in excellent vintage aesthetic condition, with fully functional mechanism and seals. The lacquer is exceptionally well-preserved, smooth, and glossy. High-resolution photographs form an integral part of the visual description. Just add flint and gas, and it's ready to go!
