Black Sabbath – Master of Reality (US) is a 1971 US first‑pressing white label promotional LP on Warner Bros. BS 2562, embossed sleeve with a Radio Station Service timing strip and NOT FOR RESALE, inner sleeve included; vinyl EX and sleeve VG.
Description from the seller
Highly collectible original 1971 US white label promotional pressing of Black Sabbath's Master of Reality, issued by Warner Bros. Records under catalogue number BS 2562. This is the special white label promo edition produced for promotional and radio-station use rather than normal retail sale. Original US promotional copies of Master of Reality are documented with Warner Bros. radio-station material, including the distinctive Radio Station Service timing strip associated with these early promotional issues. This copy retains the large Warner Bros. Records Radio Station Service timing strip on the front sleeve, together with the "NOT FOR RESALE" designation—a superb period feature that immediately separates it from an ordinary commercial copy. The album is housed in the desirable original embossed cover, with the Master of Reality lettering physically raised from the front surface. This packaging belongs to the early US presentation of the album and is one of the defining visual characteristics collectors look for. Another important detail is the Artisan Sound Recorders logo stamped in the runout groove, which identifies the lacquer mastering as having been carried out at Artisan Sound Recorders, the mastering facility responsible for the original US cuts of the album.
⸻
Sleeve (VG):
The original embossed promotional sleeve shows some age-related wear, primarily corner wear and wear to the spine. Despite this, the sleeve remains structurally sound and presents well overall, with the embossed front artwork still clearly defined. Most importantly, the original Radio Station Service timing strip and NOT FOR RESALE promotional marking remain present on the front, preserving the key characteristics of this scarce promotional edition → VG
Inner Sleeve:
Original period inner sleeve included.
Vinyl (EX):
A fantastic example. The vinyl retains a beautiful deep original shine and shows relatively little evidence of previous play. It has clearly been very carefully handled and remains a very strong, solid EX copy. Particularly impressive condition for a promotional record that was originally intended for industry and radio use → EX
