David Bowie – Space Oddity (US) – 1972 RCA Dynaflex Hollywood pressing, near mint vinyl, sleeve VG+ and includes the original inner sleeve; one item, released in the United States, LSP-4813.
Description from the seller
A very attractive 1972 US RCA Victor reissue of David Bowie's Space Oddity, issued under catalogue number LSP-4813. This copy represents the RCA Records Pressing Plant, Hollywood variation, identifiable by the "H" marking in the runout groove—a detail that distinguishes it from other pressings of the same catalogue number. Documented Hollywood copies of LSP-4813 are known to carry the orange RCA Victor Dynaflex labels and the BPRS-4501 / BPRS-4502 matrix series, characteristics that mark this as a particularly desirable variant among collectors of the title.
This 1972 RCA edition reintroduced Bowie's 1969 album under the now-familiar Space Oddity title, following its earlier US appearance as Man of Words / Man of Music. The album features the title track alongside "Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed," "Cygnet Committee," "Janine," "The Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud" and "Memory of a Free Festival." A particularly nice feature of this copy is the original printed photo and lyric inner sleeve, which properly belongs with this US RCA edition and remains present here.
⸻
Sleeve (VG+):
The original sleeve remains solid and attractive overall, presenting well despite its age. There is some visible ringwear together with normal light handling wear, but no major structural problems. The artwork remains clean and presentable throughout → VG+
Inner Sleeve:
Original printed photo and lyric inner sleeve included.
Vinyl (NM):
A superb copy. The vinyl retains a beautiful deep original gloss and shows extremely little evidence of previous play or handling. The surface is clean and well preserved. A strong Near Mint example → NM
