Bob Dylan – Blonde on Blonde (UK) is a 1966 1st mono pressing (CBS DDP 66012), a double LP with EX gatefold sleeve and VG+ discs, bearing the complete A1/B1/C1/D1 first-cut matrices.
Description from the seller
Highly collectible original 1966 UK mono first pressing of Bob Dylan's masterpiece Blonde on Blonde, issued by CBS as a double LP under catalogue number DDP 66012.
This copy carries the complete earliest A1 / B1 / C1 / D1 matrix combination across all four sides, confirming the sought-after first-cut UK mono pressing. Original UK examples with this exact matrix set are well documented as the earliest cuts from the release period.
The UK mono edition holds particular interest from an audio perspective because it does not simply duplicate the US configuration. Research into the original mixes identifies the UK mono edition as employing the Canadian mono mix on Sides 1 and 2 and the US mono mix on Sides 3 and 4, giving this pressing its own distinctive place within the complicated Blonde on Blonde discography. Blonde on Blonde itself represents one of Dylan's defining 1960s statements, bringing together folk, blues, rock and surreal songwriting across four sides. The album spans "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35," "Visions of Johanna," "I Want You," "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again," "Just Like a Woman," "Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine" and the full-side "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands."
⸻
Sleeve (EX):
The original gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition and presents extremely well for its age, with only minimal signs of handling and storage.
Disc 1 (VG+):
Retains a nice original shine with a number of light hairlines and superficial signs of previous play. Nothing particularly deep or severe, and overall a solid VG+ example.
Disc 2 (VG+):
Likewise shows some light hairlines and normal playwear while retaining good gloss. Overall another strong VG+ record.
