Description from the seller
Exceptional rarity from the prestige art book "Gantner or Transparency" (text by Roger Munier, illustrations by Bernard Gantner).
Published in 1972, this is an original high bibliophilic edition.
Rarity (Copy no. 83 / 150): This work benefited from a strictly limited edition of 150 boxes worldwide on Rives damask paper.
Unique feature: The frontispiece page carries an original handwritten dedication signed by Bernard Gantner himself, dated 1978.
Complete in sheets (loose gatherings) with a vellum-covered slipcase. It contains the text as well as the 8 original color lithographs, all signed in pencil by the artist.
Dimensions: Large format In-4 (34 x 28 cm).
Style & Period: Poetic and minimalist Realism characteristic of the new Paris School.
This work corresponds to the period of Gantner’s full artistic maturity (Gold Medal at the Salon des artistes français in 1971).
Condition: The interior of the book, the text and the 8 lithographic plates are in excellent condition, very fresh.
The outer cardboard slipcase is unglued (natural discoloration due to light on the original carton), which is common but has perfectly protected the work inside.
