Wholly handmade in Murano using lampworking, this sculpture tells Venice and love in a single, delicate image of glass.
The gondola, in solid glossy black glass, is hand-shaped in a long, slender line. At the bow the characteristic iron prow, stylized with fine engravings evoking its famous "teeth"; at the stern the line ends in an elegant curl.
In the center, two hearts of transparent red glass, applied hot, tilt gently toward each other, like two lovers during a gondola ride. When lit from behind the red glows with warm orange hues.
The gondola rests in balance on a crystal cube worked with the pulegoso technique: a dense pattern of air bubbles, deliberately created in the glass, giving it a lively, tactile look, like the water of the lagoon moved by the current. On this base the gondola seems to float, suspended.
