Montblanc double pen case in black smooth leather, measuring 15 cm by 3 cm by 1.5 cm, origin Germany and dating to circa 1960–1970, in good used condition with signs of use and age.
Description from the seller
We present at auction a practical and elegant double Montblanc pen case, a small leather accessory indispensable for protecting and transporting one’s precious writing instruments in style.
The case is crafted in fine smooth black leather, featuring a compact design with a sliding closure secured by a solid central leather loop. The front is adorned with the iconic Montblanc white star emblem, finely set in the lower section, while the back features a blind embossing with the historic wording Montblanc Hamburg. The interior is thoughtfully arranged with two compartments separated by a divider, a detail designed to safely house two pens and prevent them from rubbing against and scratching each other during transport.
The conservation status of this piece is assessable as generally good, preserving its structural integrity and full usability. However, in strict adherence to our policy of total transparency and as clearly visible in the photographic documentation, there are obvious and widespread signs of prior frequent use. The soft smooth leather shows numerous superficial scratches, creases, pressure marks and a general loss of luster, marks visible especially along the sliding areas of the loop and on the contact areas with the writing instruments. These marks attest to the object’s authentic lived-in history without hindering its normal daily use.
