Description from the seller
Up for auction is a highly sought-after, genuine 1984 European/UK first pressing of Metallica's legendary thrash metal masterpiece, "Ride The Lightning". Released by Music For Nations (Catalog Number: MFN 27), this specific variant was pressed by the renowned MPO plant in France for the UK and European markets.
This copy features the famous "For Whom The Bells Toll" misprint error on the back cover (instead of "Bell Tolls"), which is characteristic of the earliest production runs.
Matrix / Runout Details (Hand-etched):
• Side One: MPO MFN 27 A1 TY
• Side Two: MPO MFN 27 B1 TY
(Features the "TY" signature of the acclaimed mastering engineer Tim Young from CBS London).
Condition Report:
• Vinyl Condition: VG+ (Very Good Plus). The vinyl retains a beautiful glossy shine. Under strong light, only minor hairline surface marks and faint paper scuffs are visible, which do not affect the playback quality. It plays wonderfully with minimal to no surface noise.
• Sleeve Condition: VG+ (Very Good Plus). The sleeve is structurally strong and clean with vibrant colors. There is a small, minor wear/damage on the top edge of the sleeve (clearly visible in the provided photos). Spine text remains readable, and light corner wear is present, consistent with its age.
