Malletier Élysée fountain pen with a plastic body and stainless steel fittings, made in France in the late 20th century; in good used condition and in working order, 14k gold nib, length 14.6 cm, diameter 1.2 cm, serial number 5EZUA36.
Description from the seller
A0000004320
The Malletier Élysée fountain pen is presented in excellent overall condition, standing out for its carefully maintained aesthetics and a deep shine in its black lacquer, which preserves its original elegance. The body and cap retain a uniform finish, with sharp reflections and no visible material loss, indicating moderate and respectful use over time.
Under detailed observation and especially when held up to the light, a few superficial scratches, typical of use, can be seen; these do not affect the structural or functional integrity of the piece, nor do they diminish its excellent overall appearance.
The metal elements, including the clip, center band, and end taps, show a clean, well-preserved finish, with no signs of wear, corrosion, or deterioration of the plating. The engravings and decorative details remain well defined, contributing that refined character typical of the Élysée brand.
The 14-karat gold nib is in very good condition, with a bright surface and clearly legible engravings. No deformities or structural damage are observed, suggesting proper and careful use. The feed appears intact and clean.
Overall, this is a piece that has been well preserved, maintaining both its aesthetic and functional integrity. As is common with vintage items, there may be micro signs of use, but in no case do they affect its performance or appeal.
The pen has been inspected and tested, guaranteeing proper functioning at the time of sale.
Preservation recommendations
It is recommended to use high-quality inks specifically for fountain pens and to avoid pigmented or permanent inks. If the pen is not used for an extended period, it is advisable to clean it with lukewarm water, dry it completely before storing, and keep it in a dry place away from direct light and extreme temperatures. Always operate the filling mechanism gently to preserve its internal mechanisms.
It will be sent in a courtesy box to preserve the pen's integrity.
Happy bidding!
