This single-strand “Princess” necklace, entirely handmade in Murano, combines lamp-worked Murano glass beads with a simple, colorful design.
The central element is a large, colorless transparent glass bicone, lamp-worked. At the two conical ends are applied and fused numerous opaque glass spots, forming the “Arlecchino” motif: red, yellow, cobalt blue, turquoise, sky blue, lime green, acid green, white, pink lilac, and beige. The central band remains transparent, letting light pass through the glass and creating a contrast between the color of the spots and the purity of the crystal. Each spot has its own shape and shading, with subtle veins visible up close, typical of artisanal craftsmanship.
On each side, the bead is flanked by two round opaque coral-red glass beads, glossy and bright. The rest of the necklace consists of slightly flattened transparent glass beads, directing all attention to the center.
The clasp is also decorative: a Murano glass button with a lenticular shape, bearing the same multicolored polka-dot decoration as the central pearl, hooks onto a red bead loop. It’s a traditional and functional solution, and makes the jewel visually appealing even from the back.
