Meerschaum pipe - Sea foam - (4)

Lot of 4 pipes and antique smoking pipes in genuine meerschaum, carved - Late 19th / Early 20th century - With original cases

Collection lot of 4 pipes and cigar/cigarette smoking pipes in a historical style.
Genuine meerschaum, a mineral renowned for its lightness and its unique patina. Stems in genuine amber or era bakelite.

1. Large carved pipe (red case): Magnificent high-relief sculpture of a galloping horse, curved stem, presented in its original red velvet case stamped "Genuine Meerschaum Guaranteed". (I think there is a missing piece at the back - see photos)
2. Carved cigar pipe (blue case): Fine relief depicting a hunting dog/fox amidst foliage, delivered in its original rigid case.
3. Classic bent pipe (top case): Clean, traditional shape, showing a very beautiful and even natural amber patina due to age. In its original case.
4. Straight pipe (No case): Sculpted model of a small horse on the shank leading to the bowl.

• Era / Origin: France, circa 1890 - 1920.

Nice overall aesthetic condition for objects of this period. The original cases show obvious signs of exterior wear but protect the pieces perfectly. The meerschaum sculptures are clearly legible and undamaged (see photos for patina details and exact condition). A fine set for a tobacco-collecting enthusiast or a cabinet of curiosities.
