Description from the seller

Sakura Mark 34 – Made in Japan 1980s – Dreadnought – Terada Luthiery (Nagoya)
Sakura Mark 34, acoustic Made in Japan produced in the 1980s in the Terada Musical Instrument Co. facilities (Nagoya), one of the most active and appreciated Japanese luthieries of the period.
Instrument imported into Italy by Dal Maso S.R.L., as indicated by the internal label.

Vintage dreadnought built with quality materials, typical of Japanese productions of the era: selected woods, precise finishes, and solid construction.

Features and materials
top in spruce with regular grain.
Sides and back in dark wood (mahogany/nato) with a decorative central binding.
Bright binding along the entire body.
Rosewood fingerboard with circular inlays.
Rosewood bridge.
Mahogany neck with comfortable profile.
Decorated rosette.
Vintage chrome, original tuners.

Robust and well-finished construction, consistent with Terada production of the 1970s.

Luthier’s overhaul (2026)
The guitar has just undergone a full overhaul:

polishing of the body and neck
full setup (action, intonation, truss rod)
frets polished
fretboard oiled
bridge and tuners cleaned
new strings D’Addario EJ26 (.011–.052)
overall inspection of the structure and gluing

Instrument ready to play.

Sound quality
The strong point of this Sakura is the sound.
80s Japanese dreadnoughts built by Terada are known to surprise: inexpensive instruments at the time, but with a sound output that often exceeds much more prestigious brands.

The Mark 34 offers:
generous volume
wide projection
soft, full bass
present and musical mids
defined but never aggressive highs
natural sustain
immediate dynamic response

It’s a guitar that “sounds more than its price”: many modern instruments from famous brands do not have this openness, this presence, and this naturalness.
A vintage dreadnought that astonishes for balance and character.

Conditions (as visible in the photos)
Good overall condition for a 1970s instrument.
Top, back, and sides without cracks
Glossy and even finish
Straight neck
Frets polished
Nut in good condition
Original tuners functioning
Flaws present but cosmetic:
two superficial marks on the back, not deep
small blemishes on the binding, normal signs of aging
no structural problems
no compromise to playability

Why it’s interesting
Made in Japan in the 1980s
Terada Luthiery (Nagoya).
Surprising sound, superior to many modern acoustics from better-known brands.
Solid construction and quality materials.
Professional overhaul.
Good condition for its age.
Excellent as an affordable vintage dreadnought with a level sound output."} }}}}{
